Gandhi and his thoughts are not the ultimate

Many decades ago, Swami Vivekananda visited America and addressed them 'sisters and brothers' but unfortunately, till date, we have not become brothers and sisters. We remain Americans, Indians, Christians, Hindus, Sunnies etc. only.

It is because we still don't know the root causes. We define what is correct and what is wrong according to our convenience and then impose that on others.

Great Malayalam poet Vayalar Ramavarma (വയലാർ രാമവർമ്മ) deserves Nobel Prize for both literature and peace for this four lines below he had written long ago. It tells us the root cause.

Even great visionaries like Gandhi and Martin Luther King failed to realize the hollowness and danger of religions and that is why I say, we should stop blindly following them. They had shown us the ways that they thought the best. But their views were neither ultimate nor perfect and therefore, we should make necessary amendments to whatever they said so as to make them as perfect and relevant as they can. It will not end there, coming generations will have more wisdom and ideas and therefore, they too will make amendments to whatever we pass on to them.

Then only we can say that we are growing.

We must come out of the cocoons we are in and start thinking rationally which will help us to look beyond religions and borders and any such things that divide us and unite and that will ultimately help not just us but the coming generations as well living on this beautiful planet in peace and harmony.

This is how we were made blind
